A Blessing or Curse? Seeing all sides of the E-Mobility Transition and its impact on energy demand

09 Oct 2019
The significant increase of electric vehicles will entail potential threats to the environment in the form of pollution from batteries, both in the production phase as well as failure to recycle rare earth metals. Another question is if there is enough long-term capacity and resources to make it viable to radically increase the proportion of electric vehicles globally. This discussion looks beyond the tokenism and feel-good greenwashing to define what it will take for e-mobility to be better for the environment.
