About GITEX Future Stars

Featuring over 750 startups from 75 countries every year, GITEX Future Stars is the ultimate gathering ground for startups and breakthroughs of the world. This is where innovators show how technology can be a force for good; where global investors come to discover the next big thing; where business meets innovation on a scale like no other show in the region.

About the pitch competition

This year, our focus is on spotlighting France’s thriving startup ecosystem across the show. All startups registered with Station F are invited to take part in the ‘Road To The Emirates’  🇦🇪   pitch competition – where 3 startups will be adjudged as winners and receive many benefits to shine at the GITEX Future Stars event.

Why the competition

GITEX Future Stars is always driven to give startups a powerful platform to shine.  We strongly believe that tomorrow’s world will more than ever need to rely on the combined strengths and ingenuity of startups, entrepreneurs, investors, incubators, accelerators and dynamic corporations.

We want to give startups an opportunity to showcase their bold, game-changing ideas, products and solutions for a stronger, better, reimagined world.

Timing – The Steps

Challenge launches on 8 July 2020 – Applications open

Application deadline 8 October 2020, 12 midnight – Application-closing date. No applications will be accepted after this date

Shortlist by selection committee – 13 and 14 October 2020

A selection committee made up of the most recognized accelerators, investors, and stakeholders of the UAE startup ecosystem will select the 10 best candidates.

Final – 19 October 2020

The 10 best candidates will present their startup/innovation/product through a video conference (current situation doesn’t allow us to travel to France or meet face-to-face – It will be via Zoom, Microsoft Teams or any other virtual platform).

It will typically be a 5-to-10-minute pitch and Q&A. There will be only one round of pitching in front of a jury for all contestants. The jury will consist again of recognized accelerators, investors, corporate executives and industry experts of the UAE startup ecosystem.
