Rebecca Morter is the Founder and CEO of disruptive omnichannel retail startup Lone Design Club. launched in 2018, LDC offers customers a shopping experience like no other; Brands, a trusted direct route to market, both online and offline. With roots in the luxury fashion world, Rebecca trained as a designer, launching her own brand at London fashion week in 2015. LDC was consequently born from the challenges she experienced in getting her brand in front of customers and the difficulties that come with the traditional wholesale-retail model. Change needed to happen, so Rebecca set out to create a platform that disrupted the traditional wholesale model, supporting independent and sustainable brands to connect directly to consumers. LDC is a digital platform seriously powered by physical retail - their “pop up stores on steroids” are multi-brand, data-driven, and curated to allow consumers to meet the designers behind the brand, hear their unique stories, and connect to form a long-lasting relationship. Over the last 3 years, Rebecca and the LDC platform have gone from strength to strength. Named as one of Forbes 30 Under 30, and drapers 30 u 30 Rebecca regularly speaks on topics around ethics and sustainability within the industry and the platform has garnered attention far and wide, featured in numerous high-profile media outlets such as The Times, WWD, Stylist and BBC. Most recently being named as the winners of the Fashion Districts: Retail Futures 2020. Highlighted for their innovation in retail, connecting their physical and digital platforms.
