Taras Humeniuk was born in 1993 in Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ukraine. Information technologies got his interest since he got his first computer at the age of 7. In 2016 Mr. Humeniuk has received his Master in Law degree at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In 2013 Humeniuk has joined the Intellectual Property practice team of the leading law firm in Ukraine, Vasil Kisil and Partners. He also practiced IP, IT and data protection law in such world-renowned companies as DLA Piper, PricewaterhouseCoopers. Being a part of the IT practice team of the leading law firm in Ukraine, Juscutum, Mr. Humeniuk has dealt with legal issues in cryptocurrency and blockchain. Together with Artem Afian and Nestor Dubnevych, Humeniuk became one of the first lawyers who assisted cryptoprojects in structuring and their IP/IT rights protection. At the age of 26, Humeniuk founded his own law firm, named ATTORY. The company’s specializations are IT, IP and data protection. In February 2020, Humeniuk has joined the working group, which was created for drafting the bill on virtual assets in Ukraine. Thereafter, Humeniuk was offered to join the expert group for the Development of Virtual Assets Directorate of Digital Economy. Thus starting from July 2020, Humeniuk is the Chief Specialist of the mentioned expert group.
